In this dynamic position, you will support patients, families, visitors, and colleagues throughout the hospital. Your day may include coordinating patient destinations, assisting with transport, offering friendly guidance, supporting environmental or dietary services, managing supplies and equipment, or providing administrative help. Responsibilities: Warmly greets and assists patients, families, and visitors with directions, escorting, general information, and parking support while protecting patient privacy. Tracks patient belongings at admission and serves as a knowledgeable resource for hospital policies and navigation. Cleans and organizes assigned areas, replenishes supplies, prepares discharge rooms, and reports maintenance concerns. Assembles, delivers, and sets up patient meals according to diet orders while following all food safety and sanitation standards. Safely transports patients, equipment, and specimens; disinfects equipment; and accurately logs transport activity. Orders, stocks, and organizes unit supplies and equipment; maintains temperature logs; monitors expirations; and inventories devices. Answers phones, responds to call lights, supports patient comfort needs, and performs routine rounding. Coordinates patient tests, procedures, transports, and errands; updates Bedboards; and maintains charts and documentation. Completes admissions, discharges, transfers, work orders, and other essential administrative tasks in electronic systems. Conducts mail distribution, crash cart checks, routine unit audits, and supports quiet time/noise monitoring. Upholds infection control, mandatory reporting requirements, UPMC Values, and UPMC Experience standards; assists patients with the UPMC Patient Portal. Monitors telehealth requests, delivers and sets up telehealth carts, initiates virtual visits, documents consults, and performs weekly equipment testing. Must have the desire, drive, and compassion needed to provide an exceptional patient and family experience at all times High School diploma OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.6 months of experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent Demonstrated competency in all responsibilities of Patient & Family Concierge role Internal promotions to this level are based on the discretion of the business unit's assessment of employee performance Completion of 1 annual contribution from these options: hospital/department committee participation, participation in departmental project, peer interviewer, onboarding/precepting of other Experience Concierges Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Act 34 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
