Overview The Patient Insurance Representative will help patients seamlessly navigate complex billing, financial and insurance workflows. The Patient Insurance Representative is responsible for coordinating with physician practices and insurance companies to obtain authorization for scheduled surgeries and procedures. The Patient Insurance Representative will accurately perform administrative duties required to work work queues, provide estimates, confirm insurance, secure authorizations, answer billing questions and collect payments. As a liaison to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure delivery of the highest quality customer service. The Patient Insurance Representative work environment may be in the physician practice or in a call center. This task-based, metrics driven position, reviews and interprets insurance authorization coverage online and through conversations with insurance company representatives. The Patient Insurance Representative supports multiple specialties, reviews patient charts, communicates with the physician office to obtain needed information and relays necessary information to the insurance company.
