Description

The Emergency & Integrated Medicine Care Service Unit (ICSU) is looking to recruit a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to work within the Endoscopy department.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join a busy team. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure is essential to the role. The role will support the clinical team and improve the patient pathway
The ideal candidate will have NHS experience and a flexible approach to work
The PPC will assist the patient throughout their hospital experience to ensure that care provided is timely, efficient, and appropriate in regards to all members of the healthcare/ multidisciplinary team. The PPC is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of the patient throughout their pathway; giving the patient a single point of contact for their appointments, ensuring the patients and carer experience is central to every stage of the patient journey, and ensuring potential breaches of RTT (referral to treatment) waiting times targets are avoided or escalated to the relevant manager.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.

The post holder will proactively manage and track the progress of all referrals to ensure each stage of the pathway is fully planned and booked, whilst also working with colleagues throughout the Trust to ensure waiting time targets are achieved.
