Responsibilities Provides 1:1 direct observation to assigned patient to prevent patient self-injury in a situation where patient/family is unable to do so. Communicates with assigned nursing/nursing support staff on assigned area immediately in case of emergency, or as needed to provide patient care on routine basis. Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service. Abides by all hospital and departmental policies. Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds. Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies Qualifications High School graduate or GED. Familiarity with healthcare environment preferred.
