Are you a registered nurse who would like to work in a supportive and inclusive research team to develop your research skills, experience and knowledge alongside nationally recognised patient safety researchers?
Are you interested in a possible future career in research that could combine your clinical expertise and newly developed research skills?
The Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group is an inclusive, productive, supportive and enthusiastic team housed within the Bradford Institute for Health Research, a collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, York and Bradford and the healthcare community across the region. We are committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in our research team, processes and research priorities and are always seeking to review and improve this. We actively encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.
The YQSR group are seeking and encouraging applications from enthusiastic, organised and motivated nurses who are team players to primarily support the delivery of a multi-centred research study in patient safety research.
You will join our team, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, which sits within a wider research network, the YQSR Group (https://yqsr.org/). This successful group of researchers has established a national and international reputation for working collaboratively across institutions and disciplines to deliver research that makes healthcare safer.
You will primarily be involved in supporting key study processes within the SaSI-MEDs programme of research, funded by the National Institute for Health Research. This research aims to look at a way of reducing the double-checking of medicines in hospital and to understand the impact this may have for patients, staff and use of resources. You will also have the opportunity to support elements of other research studies within the YQSR research portfolio.
You will be part of a team who are supportive and will work together to deliver this programme of work. There will be opportunities to work with national experts in patient safety research and policy, and to link with other health care professionals working in this field to develop your wider skills. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who is aspiring to broaden their clinical experience and skills to include research and/or improvement skills.
We can offer support and mentorship to achieve these goals as you progress through your research career development journey.
Our People Charter outlines the behaviours we can expect from one another and what you can expect from Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust:
