PATIENT SERVICE COORDINATOR / RECEPTIONIST – AKRON

We are currently seeking candidates with experience in face-to-face receptionist and scheduling roles for a healthcare client in Akron.
In this position, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients, patients, and visitors while maintaining psychiatrist schedules, operating a multi-line switchboard, and assisting with administrative tasks in a behavioral health environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of clerical experience (e.g., data entry, scheduling)
  • Experience in a medical office, behavioral health, hospital registrar, or unit secretary role preferred
  • Proficiency with computer systems; MS Word & Excel preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working face-to-face with patients/clients required
  • Ability to handle fast-paced front desk responsibilities with professionalism and discretion
    This position is not ideal for those with only administrative or call center backgrounds. Face-to-face comfort and scheduling experience in healthcare environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in clients, visitors, and family members
  • Notify staff of arrivals and monitor patient flow
  • Schedule psychiatric appointments using Credible Wireless
  • Manage psychiatrist time-off requests and adjust schedules accordingly
  • Operate a 21-line switchboard and route calls appropriately
  • Maintain daily appointment checklists and update Televox reminder system
  • Register individuals upon arrival and ensure sign-in logs are accurate
  • Track and distribute client vouchers, checks, and bus tickets
  • Maintain adequate department supplies and order as needed
  • Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
  • Provide positive, professional customer service at all times
  • Serve as backup coverage for other administrative areas as needed
