We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (Scheduler) to join our remote team, specializing in family medicine and internal medicine support. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and maintain accurate patient records within Athena EHR. Your experience in primary care workflows will be essential for coordinating preventive visits, chronic disease management appointments, and same-day sick visits. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, efficient, and compassionate support. Responsibilities: • Greet callers in a professional, courteous manner and address patient needs promptly • Schedule primary care appointments including annual exams, chronic care followups, acute visits, and preventive screenings • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status • Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR • Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery • Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies •2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine • Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features • Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Skills: • Expertise in family medicine/internal medicine scheduling protocols • Proficiency in Athena EHR • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral coordination • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm EST Maryland
