Description New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years. We're looking for an experienced Patient Services Associate with a conscientious work ethic to join our busy specialty practice. Heavy patient interaction in-person and over the phone. Primary duties include facilitating a positive patient office experience and supporting clinical teams, ensuring that patient information is up to date, updating the database to be current, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments within established guidelines, documenting medical questions for disposition by MD or PA, balancing daily receipts, miscellaneous clerical duties and other related tasks. Job Type: Full-time Pay: Hiring range $19.28-$23.14 per hour based on experience and education. Schedule: M-F 7:15a-4:15p, 40 hours per week (1 hour non-paid lunch) 8-hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends Work setting: In-person. The regular work location will be varied between our offices (Springfield, Longmeadow, Northampton and Westfield) based on staffing and provider needs. This position reports to the Patient Services Supervisor. High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or medical secretarial certification, billing coding certification or medical assistant certification preferred. Heavy patient interaction in-person and over the phone. Accuracy, attention to detail, good judgment & follow-through. Professional, courteous, patient, team player who works well independently and as part of a team. Verbal & written communication skills, able to multi-task and perform mathematical calculations and make change. Proficiency with practice management, electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs. Overtime and scheduling flexibility may be required to accommodate operational needs.
