Job Description: Friendly and supportive team environment Work for one of Australia’s leading hospital groups Permanent, part time Fitzroy location About the Role The Patient Services Clerk’s (PSCs) role is to provide efficient and effective administrative and reception support to all of the Specialist Clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM). Promptly attend to patients registering for clinics in a courteous and friendly manner Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders (patients, their families and staff of SVHM) at all times Attend to incoming telephone enquiries from patients and GP’s in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner Assist with the management of the referrals for Specialist Clinics in accordance with the SVHM policy Attend to Medicare billing in a prompt and accurate way Liaise with the case coordination team regarding discharges and failed to attend patients Assist the case coordination team as necessary with the monitoring and validation processes in relation to the Specialist Clinics Access Policy Provide general administrative assistance to nursing and medical staff attending Specialist Clinics Ensure department procedures and protocols are followed Maintain strong professional working relationships with Nursing, Allied Health and Medical staff in clinics Action incoming and outgoing mail daily Undertake other duties as specified by the Operations Manager, Clerical Supervisor and Nurse Unit Manager Provide efficient and effective administration support Consistently represent the values of St Vincent’s Health by delivery a high standard of customer service Classifications for this position will range from HS1 - HS17 ($58,442 - $64,610 per annum pro rata) Your Contribution Minimum year 12 VCE/HSC or equivalent Awareness of the Department of Health Specialist Clinics Access Policy requirements Commitment to a patient centred care environment, with a strong focus on customer service Knowledge and experience in a clinic environment Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Ability to work independently Ability to problem solve independently A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain What We Offer A focus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programs Confidential, solutions-focused employee counselling Ability to join Fitness Passport - Your pass to an extensive choice of fitness facilities Salary Packaging – Increase your take home pay!
