Are YOU ready to join us? 7a-5:30p / Full Time / 40hrs Description JOB DESCRIPTION: This position serves as a key role in the patient's experience, serving as their first point of contact upon arrival to Emory facilities for clinical appointments. Job responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service to the patient while welcoming and checking them in for their appointments; communicating with patients, families and staff to trouble shoot and meet patient needs while waiting to see their provider; following approved standard operating procedures to complete technical and administrative functions such as arriving appointments, confirmation and updating of patient demographics, registration, and insurance information, scheduling, entering referrals, providing information about insurance coverage, collecting copays. This position will work regularly with patients, families, providers, clinical and non-clinical staff, and is a critical component to ensuring patients have a smooth and positive experience with Emory. This position is ideal for a candidate who demonstrates compassion, a commitment to excellent customer service, critical thinking and problem solving skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and able to work in a high paced team environment. This role requires computer skills and comfort with navigating multiple applications simultaneously. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED and twelve (12) months of experience in Healthcare or customer service industry OR currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program. . PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
