Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Patient Services Representative to join our team and support the mission at People's Community Clinic. As a Patient Services Representative, you will help coordinate the flow of patients through the front office in a manner that reflects superior customer service and ensures timely patient care. Location: 1101 Camino La Costa, Austin, TX 78752 (North Clinic) Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, based on clinic and supervisor needs. Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 based on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this individual's primary job responsibilities include: Greet patients promptly upon their arrival to the clinic utilizing excellent customer service Complete entire check in process as patients arrive in a timely, efficient manner Thoroughly review and update patient demographics, income, insurance and sliding fee as indicated Ensure patient is screened by financial counselors if applicable Effectively manage patient flow through the check in process and monitor daily appointment schedules Communicate effectively with back-office support staff and other departments Function well as a team with the flexibility to adapt to daily changes in routine or assignments Monitor wait times in the waiting area and communicate delays to the patient and clinical staff Manage late arriving patients per policy and no-show appointments as appropriate Collect co-pay and accurately reconcile daily cash Complete entire check out process for patient visits; collect fee tickets and enter all charges Serve as cashier; collect payment and set up payment plan per policy Schedule follow-up appointments as indicated Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: Minimum two years' experience working in a physician’s office or healthcare facility Experience with medical billing preferred Certificate/License: None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual in English/Spanish Exceptional customer service skills Ability to interact successfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities Basic computer literacy, including working with databases Working knowledge of electronic medical records and practice management systems Ability to multi-task in a high change environment Our Benefits Include: 18 PTO days per year & 11 paid holidays Major Medical Health Insurance Coverage.
