Description Ascent Emergency Medical Center is continuously growing our team of compassionate and experienced emergency medical doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff and we are currently looking to hire a PRN/Part-Time Patient Services Representative to join our team of professionals!! Ascent EMC Patient Services Representative will: Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner. Obtain and record demographic, insurance & financial information into registration software with a high degree of accuracy. Answer calls in a pleasant manner and transfer to an appropriate department. Collect co-payments or other financial payments. Maintain till, financial logs and daily logs. Represent Ascent at marketing functions. Adhere to HIPPA compliance. Successful candidates: Must be competent and knowledgeable of duties within a medical setting, including but not limited to filing, medical records processing, maintaining mail delivery, faxing, copying and scanning. Will demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to regulations of Ascent policies & procedures. Participate in performance improvement. Are available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. Requirements Candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of front desk experience. High school diploma or GED CPR Certification (Provided by facility) Candidate will have previous experience verifying patient insurance information. Additionally, candidates will meet the following requirements: · Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and billing/registration software. · Proficient typing skills. · Knowledgeable of various types of insurance. · Effective communication methods and skills. · Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. · Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
The Patient Services Representative will be responsible for professionally greeting patients, accurately obtaining and recording demographic, insurance, and financial information into registration software, and collecting co-payments. This role also involves answering and transferring calls, maintaining various logs, and representing the facility at marketing functions while adhering to HIPAA compliance.
