Description
A Patient Services Representative welcomes patients, educates them on copayments and financial obligations, collects payments, schedules appointments, and updates patient information. They promote new technologies, connect patients to financial resources, and foster a culture of service excellence, ensuring a positive UPMC experience for patients and families. This position will work Monday through Friday daylight shifts Occasional Travel between CHP Pine Center and CHP North is required Responsibilities: Greet patients warmly, guides them through self-arrival technology or check-in, and collects copayments at the point of service. Confirm/update patient information, schedule follow-up appointments, and connect patients to resources for ancillary services. Provide clear instructions, follow up on unresolved patient needs, and take appropriate action for service recovery. Register patients for Biometrics, promote MyUPMC, assist with financial education, verify insurance, and obtain consent forms. Handle phone calls, assist with administrative tasks, and other duties as needed. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associates Degree preferred Two years of experience in a high volume medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function is preferred. Previous Outpatient office experience is preferred Must be able to function and multi-task in a high volume offer with several different departments. Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems is preferred. Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills are preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
