Grade 5 (Hourly) Position Description: The University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Patient Simulator Specialist I. The Simulation Patient Specialist provides essential support for educational activities at the School of Nursing Clinical Simulation Center. This position assists faculty and students with clinical simulation activities by preparing equipment, maintaining supplies, and supporting simulation scenarios. The candidate should have basic clinical experience or simulation experience to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support. The candidate should be comfortable working in a simulated clinical environment and following established protocols for equipment operation and safety procedures. This position requires flexibility to accommodate varying class schedules and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate in lab preparation with Director of Nursing Simulation, course coordinators, and faculty to prepare nursing simulation rooms for simulation scenarios and skills activities including basic moulage application, equipment set-up, and medication/supply preparation according to established protocols. Disassemble and store equipment after simulation scenarios or skills activities. Assist with technical aspects of simulation scenario facilitation under supervision. Provide basic troubleshooting support for simulation equipment. Support pharmacological accuracy by collaborating with Director of Nursing Simulation to ensure proper simulated medication set-up and distribution according to established procedures. Ensure supplies and equipment are prepared based on faculty requests, course objectives, and clinical nursing accuracy requirements. Provide basic orientation to faculty regarding simulation/laboratory procedures, location and use of materials, and basic operation of equipment in simulation labs and classrooms. Maintain safety compliance by following established safety and simulation lab procedures and ensuring faculty, students, and staff comply with safety protocols. Maintain lab environments to replicate clinical nursing settings with appropriate cleanliness, stocked supplies, and clean linen according to established standards. Handle equipment logistics including moving hospital beds, lifting and moving simulation equipment, and transporting manikins between simulation labs and classrooms. Assist with inventory management of lab supplies, equipment, furniture, teaching models, AV equipment, and laboratory manuals. Support ordering processes as directed. Conduct basic facility tours of the School of Nursing Clinical Simulation Lab for visitors and assist with general simulation activities during the tours. Support technology operations by assisting with classroom streaming sessions, basic video capture equipment operation, and routine maintenance tasks under supervision. Assist with student support services by helping with nursing skills totes preparation and distribution to students as directed. Assist with training sessions for AHA courses. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in healthcare related field, experience in healthcare simulation Target Compensation Maximum: $36.22 Target Compensation Minimum: $24.13 Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
