Patient Transport Assistant
Reports To: Directors
Location: Unit 5, Mona Industrial Estate, Gwalchmai, Anglesey.
Job Purpose: The Patient Transport Assistant is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients to and from medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being during the journey. This role supports healthcare professionals in delivering efficient patient care by coordinating patient movement across departments or between facilities.

6. KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, or basic life support (BLS) (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence (if required for vehicle operation).

7. SKILLS:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Good physical stamina, with the ability to lift, move, and position patients.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

8. EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in a healthcare environment, patient transport, or similar role (preferred).
• Experience in operating patient transport equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, or mobility aids.

1. Patient Transport:

• Safely transport patients between hospital departments, clinics, wards, or external locations (e.g., homes, care facilities) using wheelchairs, trolleys, or stretchers.
• Assist patients in and out of vehicles, wheelchairs, or stretchers, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Follow infection control protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE) where necessary.
