Overview:
The Patient Transport Coordinator is responsible for 24/7 facilitation of safe, efficient, and timely transportation of patients in and out of the Catholic Health System. This role ensures that patients are transferred between and/or discharged from facilities via the safest, fastest, and most appropriate manner, while maintaining the highest levels of patient care and service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required (Associate’s degree in healthcare preferred)
  • Experience in EMS, dispatch, healthcare logistics, or patient care in fast-paced settings preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    Posted Salary Range: Starting from USD $27.50/Hr. :

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Transfers: Schedule and manage patient transport, ensuring proper medical support and working with EMS, ambulette services, and payors for authorization.
  • Prioritize & Monitor: Triage requests by urgency and monitor hospital bed capacity to ensure timely, safe transfers.
  • Ensure Safety & Comfort: Maintain clear communication, verify medical needs are met, and support transport staff during operations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Record all transport details, update patient charts, and escalate delays or issues as needed.
  • Compliance & Quality: Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and confidentiality; participate in audits and training.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with departments across the hospital and communicate special patient needs to transport teams.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve transport-related issues quickly to minimize care disruptions and maintain smooth operations.
