This is an Hourly position. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Transport & Lift Team Specialist performs patient transports, transfers, lifts and repositions using the appropriate patient lifting equipment and safe patient handling policies and procedures. Picks up and delivers inpatients and patient care items between patient care units and other ancillary departments. In doing so, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of patient lifting equipment along with maintaining proper hygiene of the slings and lifting/transportation equipment on each unit. May assist with employee education and training of patient lifting equipment and transfer techniques when indicated. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Must be 18 years old to be considered for position. • Basic understanding of communication equipment such as pagers, phones and computers. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
