Overview The Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely, and respectful movement of patients, equipment, and essential items throughout the hospital. This role ensures accurate communication with clinical teams, maintains a clean and safe environment, and supports patient comfort during transport. The Transporter also adheres to hospital protocols, safety standards, and documentation procedures, contributing to smooth hospital operations and a positive patient experience. The Transporter will be working in collaboration with care givers, to facilitate the moving of patients to and from Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Join our team of experts and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities • Manages the patient transportation between the nursing units and Radiology / Nuclear Medicine. This workflow is coordinated with the Technologist who’s scheduled to image the patient. • Maintain the safety of the transportation equipment, by reporting and removing the equipment from service. • Maintain safe / clean equipment, by making sure the equipment is clean prior to and after each use. • Assists in the transfer of patients to and from the examination table and provides proper immobilization devices for positioning or transporting as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous Patient Transport experience helpful but not required. 6 months of customer service required.

Responsibilities

The Transporter is responsible for the safe and timely movement of patients between nursing units and Radiology/Nuclear Medicine departments. They also ensure that transportation equipment is kept clean, safe, and in good working order.
