  • Preparing Pastries:

This includes mixing doughs, fillings, and batters, shaping and portioning pastries, and preparing various types of baked goods like cakes, cookies, pies, and other desserts.

  • Following Recipes and Procedures:

Adhering to established recipes and production processes to ensure consistent quality and product specifications.

  • Operating Baking Equipment:

Using and maintaining various baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and sheeters.

  • Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene:

Ensuring the pastry station and all equipment are kept clean and sanitized, adhering to strict food safety standards.

  • Monitoring Production:

Observing the baking process, adjusting oven temperatures, or baking times as needed, and ensuring products are baked to the correct specifications.

  • Packaging and Labelling:

Packaging finished pastries, labelling them accurately, and preparing them for distribution or storage.

Additional Responsibilities (depending on the specific factory):

  • Ingredient Management:

May be involved in ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients, and managing inventory to ensure adequate supply.

  • Quality Control:

Checking the quality of ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet established standards.

  • Teamwork:

Working collaboratively with other pastry cooks, bakers, and production staff.

  • Troubleshooting:

Identifying and addressing any issues that may arise during the baking process.

  • Following Safety Procedures:

Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Pastry Baking Skills: Strong foundation in pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, and decorating.
