Description
Description Create and grade garment patterns to make viable samples and production runs. Monitor and adjust patterns to ensure proper fit, and production friendly construction. Education: Degree in apparel or fashion design preferred, or related industry experience. Essential Functions: Create development patterns based on approved garment designs provided by the Design department Process patterns for photo samples as needed Adjust patterns as needed to achieve desired fit standard, issuing fit samples as required Adjust patterns as needed for best construction method Finalize development patterns and save for production. Establish available pattern options as required Accurately grade patterns to maintain GK fit standards across all sizes in production Develop pattern bases for all new fabrics, confirming proper fit thru testing as needed Adjust production patterns for shrink & stretch as needed for production orders Determine points of measure needed to completely finalize spec and provide direction regarding spec to pattern department clerk Assist in processing patterns for any new fabrics or for research and development testing Other duties as required Skills and Abilities: Excellent patternmaking skills (Lectra, Optitex or Gerber preferred) Knowledge of garment construction Strong Microsoft office skills, including Word and Excel Excellent communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Physical Demands: Frequent sitting Occasional standing and walking Occasional movement through various departments Manual dexterity of fingers and hands
