We are looking for a motivated and experienced Paving Foreman to lead our paving crews in Nelson on a fixed-term (18 months) basis. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily operations of paving teams on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to high-quality and safety standards.
• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to execute work efficiently and accurately.
• Manage materials, equipment, and resources required for each job, ordering and organising as necessary.
• Foster a positive team culture, providing leadership, training, and support for crew members of all backgrounds and experience levels.
• Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualities for Paving Foreman Candidates

• Demonstrated experience supervising paving, road construction within civil infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving procedures, including safe and efficient use of plant, equipment, and hand tools.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to safety and quality.
• Competency in reading site plans and using modern construction technology.
• A full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1) is required; Class 2 and WTR endorsements are essential.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
