As a Paving Operator your key duties will be operating the plant machinery including the vital paving machine to apply asphalt and other materials to roadways, car parks, and other surfaces. You will work across various sized civil infrastructure projects within Auckland, alongside your paving side operator and crew members. You will be a multi-skilled plant machine operator, joining us at Fulton Hogan. In addition to the above you will: Operate paving machinery (must), including asphalt pavers, rollers, excavators and other related equipment. Set up, calibrate, and maintain paving equipment to ensure efficient operation and high-quality output. Control and monitor the paving process to ensure even application of asphalt and other materials Attend and take part in pre-start meetings, understanding hazards and H&S risks Conduct general labourer duties when required to ensure timely completion per project timeframes Work closely with other construction team members, including labourers, forepersons, and site supervisors We’re looking for someone with: Hold a Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence and WTR Endorsement Class 2 NZ Drivers Licence is preferred Having strong competency operating asphalt pavers, rollers, excavators in the construction industry Have the willingness to help out with labouring duties when required Able to work both day and night shifts and weekends as/when required This role is a Full Time, Permanent position guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week. The wage ranges from $27.00 – 36.00 per hour, this role may include penal rates pending on the chosen agreement.
