POSITION OVERVIEW:

Golden Equity is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Payday Loan Officer to join our team. This role is essential in assisting tenants and community members with payday loan services, helping them manage their immediate financial needs while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines. You will act as a resource for residents who require financial assistance, providing clear communication and offering responsible lending options.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in finance, business, or a related field is an asset).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in financial services, payday loans, or customer service. Experience working in the property management industry is a plus.
  • Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of payday loan products and the regulations governing them in Ontario.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain loan terms clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to assess financial situations and make sound lending decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of loan management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of rental assistance programs and familiarity with tenant needs in a residential setting is an asset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Fluent in English
Responsibilities
  • Loan Application Processing: Review and process payday loan applications from tenants and eligible individuals, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Customer Consultation: Provide information on payday loan terms, conditions, and repayment schedules, ensuring residents fully understand the loan process and their obligations.
  • Financial Assistance: Assess the financial situation of applicants, including evaluating income, employment status, and existing debts, to determine loan eligibility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all payday loan transactions are processed in full compliance with Ontario’s payday loan regulations and other relevant laws, maintaining accurate records and proper documentation.
  • Collection Support: Work with clients to facilitate timely repayment of loans, and assist in developing payment plans for residents who face financial hardship or difficulty.
  • Customer Service: Build strong relationships with tenants and prospective clients, providing a high level of customer service, addressing concerns, and offering solutions to help them manage their financial needs.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks or fraud and take proactive steps to mitigate them. Ensure that loan limits and terms align with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Collaboration with Property Management Team: Coordinate with the property management team to provide seamless support to tenants who may need financial assistance for rent payments or other housing-related expenses.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions, payments, and customer interactions, ensuring that all files are up to date and compliant with company policies.
