Description
At Eurowag, we are building a platform that simplifies mobility, payments, and energy for transport companies. As our payment ecosystem continues to scale across markets and products, we are looking for a Head of Payment Operations to lead and evolve our operational capabilities. In this role, you will oversee the stability and performance of our card payment stack — from authorization and issuing to antifraud operations — ensuring reliable, efficient, and scalable payment processing across the platform. You will lead a team of L2 payment operations specialists, act as the operational bridge between support, engineering, and infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement across key payment KPIs such as approval rates, fraud rates, and processing performance. Working closely with Product, Risk, Finance, and Commercial teams, you will ensure operational readiness for new integrations and launches, while also contributing to incident management, root-cause analysis, and long-term platform resilience. This role requires strong expertise in the card payment lifecycle, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to operate calmly and decisively in a fast-moving fintech environment. • 5+ years of experience in operations, preferably in payments, financial services, SaaS  • Strong level of English and Czech is a must • Knowledge of: Card payments lifecycle, Authorizations & decline codes, 3DS flows,  Antifraud rule management  • Experience in L2 or advanced operational support roles.  • Experience leading or mentoring a team.  • Strong analytical mindset with KPI-driven decision making.  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (preferably AWS).  • Experience with SLA/SLO management is a strong plus.  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.).  • Strong cross-functional communication skills.  • Ownership mindset.  • Structured problem-solving approach.  • Calm and decisive during incidents. • Leading a L2 team of payment operations specialists  • Ensure stable and high-performing card payment processing, issuing, and antifraud  • Manage escalations from L1 and coordinate with engineering (L3) when required.  • Ensure operational readiness for new integrations and product launches.  • Drive performance optimization (approval rate, fraud rate, cost efficiency).  • Monitor authorization performance and conversion KPIs.  • Identify root causes of declines and performance degradation.  • Act as operational counterpart to infrastructure teams running our payment stack in AWS.  • Work closely with Product, Risk, Finance, and Commercial teams.  • Act as operational counterpart to infrastructure teams running our payment stack in AWS.  • Understand system architecture at a functional level (APIs, gateways, queues,  dependencies).  • Participate in incident management and post-mortems.  WHY JOIN US?
