Two (2) years of experience administering payments, reconciliations, or financial transactions in a regulated, government, or public-sector setting.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

  • Experience with data analysis tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau or similar).
  • Experience administering payments, reconciliations, or financial transactions in a regulated or public-sector environment.
  • Understanding of ACH, prepaid card disbursement, and payment file processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting payment issues including returned payments, rejected transactions or reconciliation errors.
  • Experience interpreting and applying financial policies or statutory funding requirements.
  • Experience documenting processes, drafting reports, and communicating complex issues to internal and external stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business administration, accounting, finance, public administration or other closely related field as determined by the agency.
  • Familiarity with Minnesota’s Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system or similar accounting and reporting platforms.
  • Experience working with public benefit programs or payroll systems.
  • Skill in supporting program monitoring and performance monitoring using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SAS).

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Payments Analyst will perform advanced professional analytical and program administration work to ensure the effective, timely, and accurate delivery of Paid Leave payments. Reporting to the Payments Supervisor, this position will play a critical role in administering the division’s statewide payment and collections operations through monitoring, reporting, issue resolution, ensuring payment integrity and accuracy, and operational process improvement. This role is responsible for daily payment administration, issue prioritization and resolution, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Administer daily benefit payments and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with program policies and regulations.
  • Analyze payment data and processes to identify discrepancies, prevent overpayments, and drive operational improvements through collaboration with internal and external partners.
    This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.
    This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.
