PAYNE WHITNEY SOCIAL WORKER – BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/PSYCHIATRY – AMBULATORY – OUTPATIENT PSYCHIATRY EVALUATION AND NAVIGATION HUB

We partner across the full spectrum of key areas, providing life-changing research, education, and practice.
The Social Worker role will be a tri-campus hub for triage, assessment, and evaluations to assist adult patients finding the right mental health care at the right time. This hub will unite existing staff across campuses to centralize and streamline access while decreasing redundant, unnecessary, and time-intensive work through optimization of our electronic medical record and with the use of innovative technologies. This role will support our strategic initiative to improve access to our outpatient programs, provide transparency to available services and treatment within our system, make rapid and appropriate recommendations for services to a larger outside ecosystem while supporting Ambulatory Services’ mission to provide tertiary care to the most acute patients.

In addition to working closely with behavioral health colleagues, you will also evaluate patients referred from other NYP/Weill Cornell disciplines, offering a dynamic opportunity to collaborate across medical specialties and broaden your clinical exposure. As part of this innovative team, you will participate in daily triage and disposition huddles, collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, and provide psychoeducation to patients and families.
