Duties and Responsibilities: Process and reconcile multi-state payroll across multiple divisions and subsidiaries. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Manage state and local tax registration. Prepare and post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts. Manage the equity compensation process, including tracking, reporting, and coordination with HR and finance. Ensure proper accounting treatment of equity compensation (e.g., options, RSUs) in accordance with GAAP. Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee compensation data. Support month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules. Assist with financial reporting and internal/external audits related to payroll and compensation. Participate in process improvement initiatives and automation projects. Support internal control design and documentation efforts. Collaborate with AP, AR, FP&A, and other finance functions as needed. Coordinate and support 401(k) audits and workers’ compensation audits. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 4+ years of experience in payroll accounting and general accounting operations. Strong understanding of payroll systems and multi-state tax laws. Experience managing and accounting for equity compensation programs. Proficiency in journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query). Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily. If requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job, absent undue hardship.
