JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as a Payroll & Accounting Clerk. This key role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll administration in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner. In addition, the role supports critical accounting functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable for real estate brokerages owned and/or operated by RIFO BC. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with Finance and HR Team members and other departments to ensure smooth operational processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Exceptional verbal and written english communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • General knowledge of CRA regulations
  • General knowledge of BC Employment Standards Act

Required Training and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year Payroll experience
  • A minimum of 1 year Accounting experience
  • Experience in a real estate setting is considered an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $42,900.00-$48,750.00 per year

Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Process and administer employee payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, coordinating with benefit providers.
  • Track and maintain records of employee vacation accruals, usage, and balances.
  • Prepare and issue T4 slips and related year-end tax documents in accordance with CRA guidelines.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies or payroll-related inquiries from employees.

AP & AR

  • Handle Accounts Receivables through systems and procedures in place.
  • Handle Accounts Payables through systems and procedures in place.
  • Ensure invoices received are dealt with in a timely and organized manner, obtaining approval from any supervisors as required prior to payment.
  • Process adjustments as required.
  • Issue expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of fee structures for all brokerages.
  • Run reports as required.
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.

General

  • Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries whenever possible.
  • Receive, direct, and relay emails, telephone messages, fax messages.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining operational platforms.
  • Support the adoption of new tools to streamline workflows.
  • Provide support to other departments as required.
  • Provide coverage for team members as required
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all tasks.
