Job Title: Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Department: Finance
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Compensation: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Columbus, OH (Easton area)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing payroll through ADP, assisting with financial audits, handling tax reporting, and performing key accounting functions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and payroll processing, preferably within a multi-state employer environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting and payroll processing experience (preferably in a multi-state employer environment).
  • Experience with ADP payroll processing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and payroll regulations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ADP, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis).
  • Experience working in telehealth or healthcare accounting is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Compliance

  • Process biweekly payroll for employees through ADP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage payroll-related tax filings, notices, and deductions, including benefits and 401(k) contributions.
  • Address payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and compliance issues.

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
  • Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Assist in tax reporting and coordination with external tax advisors.

Financial Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Assist in tracking expenses, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in payroll and accounting workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting best practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.
