Reporting to the Financial Controller this is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated team player to join the NSP team in the heart of Surfers Paradise. A working understanding of, and experience interpreting the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA) is essential. About the role... You’ll be responsible for the Hotel Payroll function (end to end) – including weekly payroll processing, monthly superannuation and payroll tax reporting Accounts Payable invoice processing, management of a decentralized invoicing system and completion of weekly/fortnightly payment runs Support the finance team and assist with preparation of month end journals and reports Respond to all payroll/invoice queries in a timely manner Ensure compliance and provide accurate advice relating to current legislation, EA and HIGA Award interpretation Maintain appropriate filing systems, customer and financial records and archive historical data Assist External Auditors with financial records Other ad hoc duties/projects as requested by the Manager You must have valid Australian Work Rights Qualifications A bit about you... We are seeking an experienced payroll professional with strong award knowledge and an ability to interpret both award and enterprise agreement conditions. 3+ year’s experience in a payroll officer role is essential Knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, superannuation, payroll tax legislation, awards, agreements and contracts of employment Experience with Zambion/Ready Work Force, Sun and Purchase Plus highly regarded Experience in hotels desired but not essential Well-developed organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and manage your own workload, confident communication and solid MS Excel, Word and Outlook skills will be necessary to succeed in this role and familiarity with accounting systems and general ledger software Excellent time management skills and can work unsupervised Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy A friendly disposition with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders Exceptional customer service & verbal/written communication skills Honesty, integrity, privacy and confidentiality A great hands on team player, who proactively looks to ensure good financial practices and controls are maintained.
