We Are Hiring: Payroll Administrator (Full-Time)
Midland International School is a respected and dynamic educational institution committed to excellence in teaching and learning. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our administrative team.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, experienced payroll professional with a solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
End-to-end payroll processing for all school staff (permanent and temporary)

Submission and reconciliation of:

  • EMP201 and EMP501
  • UIF declarations via uFiling
  • SARS tax returns and PAYE submissions

Monthly and annual reconciliations (including IRP5s and tax certificates)
Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records
Ensure accurate tax calculations, deductions, and third-party payments
Manage leave records, overtime, and adjustments
Liaise with SARS, Department of Labour, UIF, and other relevant bodies
Ensure full compliance with labour, tax and payroll regulations
Assist with audit preparations and support the finance department

Respond to staff payroll queries in a timely and professional manner

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric)
Payroll or Finance qualification (Diploma or higher preferred)
Minimum 3 years of payroll administration experience, preferably in an education or public service environment
Proficiency in SARS eFiling, uFiling, and payroll software (e.g. Pastel Payroll, Sage, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of UIF, PAYE, SDL, and other statutory contributions
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and communication skills

Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information

Advantages:

Knowledge of HR processes and BCEA
