Description

Pickard Construction is a leading telecommunications and electrical utility contractor with multiple branch locations in Ontario.
As Payroll Administrator you will:
Prepare all aspects of the weekly and bi-weekly payrolls including data entry and maintenance in the company’s payroll system.
Process employee hires, changes and terminations.
Process employee timesheets and run multiple payrolls each week.
Prepare monthly union reporting and related payments.
Prepare monthly government reporting and related remittances for income tax, CPP, EI, WSIB, EHT.
Respond to inquiries from the President, CFO, employees and others in a timely and professional manner.
Perform payroll accounting functions, reconciliations, and reporting.
Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
Ensure compliance with provincial and employment standards – stat holidays, hours of work, garnishments etc.
Prepare and issue various employer forms (i.e. ROE’s).
Complete year-end requirements (T4’s, WSIB / EFT annual summaries etc.).
Is this role a fit for you?
You have a minimum of 3 years’ payroll administration experience in a unionized environment.
Supporting and in collaboration with the President, you are able to read and interpret collective bargaining agreements and determine related payroll requirements.
Supporting and in collaboration with the CFO, you are proficient at researching payroll compliance matters.
You are a detail-oriented individual, a solid team player, and excel in a fast-paced, multiple priorities environment.
You have a proven ability to work under tight deadlines.
You have demonstrated effective planning, prioritizing, organization and administrative skills
You are proficient in Excel and Payroll software and have experience with Microsoft products.
You are able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
