Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a stable manufacturing company that is looking to hire a Payroll Administrator. We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to take ownership of our weekly payroll operations, ensuring precision and compliance every step of the way. This is a key role that not only manages day-to-day payroll functions but also drives enhancements to our systems and procedure. This is an in the office position in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll timely and accurately in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Develop, document, and maintain payroll policies and procedures—including timecard attestations.
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with HR and Accounting to streamline payroll strategies and optimize processes.
Oversee all payroll deductions, including wage garnishments, child support, benefits, and 401(k).
Audit and verify payroll records, timekeeping entries, and termination pay.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to leadership with actionable insights.
Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related questions and issue resolution.
Support year-end payroll functions including W-2s, 1095-C forms, and Form 5500.
Stay current with payroll laws and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of hands-on payroll experience (ADP or Paycom strongly preferred)
High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or CPP certification preferred
Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance best practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems
Understanding of HR functions and employment law
