Description
  • Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports in compliance with contract requirements and labor regulations.
  • Ensure all payrolls adhere to prevailing wage determinations and fringe benefit requirements.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain accurate employee timecards, wage rates, work classifications, and jobsite details.
  • Coordinate with project managers, compliance officer and accounting to resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records for audits by federal, state, or local agencies.
  • Respond to inquiries from auditors, project owners, or government entities regarding payroll compliance.
  • Stay current with changes in wage laws, labor classifications, and certified payroll requirements.
  • Train relevant staff on certified payroll procedures and compliance expectations.
  • Support Subcontractors and ensure payrolls are in compliance.
  • Communicate with internal staff and government authorities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year in certified payroll or government contracting.
  • Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, LCPtracker, B2G Now, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Davis-Bacon Act, local prevailing wage laws, and public works compliance.
