Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Stratford, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian payroll standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with experience managing high-volume payroll processes.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 800-900 employees, including 250-300 permanent staff, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage manual timesheets, audit hours worked, and input data into the Dayforce system.
  • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and update the system for layoffs and terminations.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with unionized workforce agreements and Canadian payroll standards.
  • Utilize intermediate-level Excel skills to handle payroll-related data and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management to address payroll-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Perform regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation to support payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support payroll-related needs and initiatives.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably with high-volume employee groups.
  • Proficiency with Dayforce payroll software.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and compliance standards.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with formulas and analyze data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and resolve payroll queries.
  • Experience managing payroll for a unionized workforce is an asset.
  • Ability to work efficiently with manual processes and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
