Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll team. In this role, you will take ownership of processing accurate and timely weekly and biweekly payrolls across multiple locations and states, leveraging Workday and various Point of Sale (POS) systems. You will serve as a critical liaison between Payroll and departments such as Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, and Accounts Payable, as well as external vendors and service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle, high-volume payroll across multiple states.
  • 1+ year of payroll experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Workday payroll systems.
  • Deep knowledge of wage and hour laws and final pay requirements in various states.
  • Strong technical proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and management levels.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state, multi-location operations on a weekly and biweekly basis.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance by validating time and attendance data, balancing payroll batches, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process final wages in accordance with state labor laws, including any required adjustments, involuntary deductions (e.g., garnishments, levies), and voluntary deductions.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits, compliance filings, and internal reporting.
  • Accurately process and reconcile Voluntary Tips and Service Charges from POS systems, including batch reviews and corrections.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure seamless payroll operations, serving as a payroll expert and providing training where needed.
  • Prepare accounting transactions, tax filings, reports, and ad hoc payroll summaries for management.
  • Proactively resolve payroll issues by coordinating with internal teams and third-party providers.
  • Support continuous process improvement efforts and uphold best practices for payroll compliance and controls.
