Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will deliver exceptional customer service to business groups and process biweekly/monthly payroll for salary and hourly employees for Canada along with monthly payroll for European and APAC countries and contribute to the yearend cycle and internal reporting requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Oversee and support daily payroll operations, organizing and submitting payroll entries to ensure error-free processing in compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies through data entry, mass uploads, time system inquiries, payroll processing jobs and maintaining required authorizations and documents
Review, analyze, and reconcile payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures and calculate retroactive data as required and identify any payment or data errors
Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions
Ensure employees are receiving their payments on schedule by working to the tight deadlines and effectively managing your time to meet our SLA’s
Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll requests and issues by providing exceptional customer service to both the customer and its employees using Workday case management
Escalate issues as necessary to ensure quality service levels
Propose ideas, solutions, and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, accounting, and IT, to gather data requirements and streamline data flows
Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements by providing data analysis and testing expertise
Monitor and maintain accuracy of employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit enrollments
Provide support on special projects or during vacation coverage as needed
Seek feedback, continuously learn, and take advantage of opportunities to improve knowledge, skills, and experience · Adhere to confidentiality protocols and protect sensitive employee information in compliance with company policies and legal regulations

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, including in-depth knowledge of Dayforce and/or Workday Payroll
Working knowledge of Workday HCM
Bachelor’s degree, with PCP Certification preferred
Sound knowledge of Canadian payroll taxes and calculations for the various tax implications
Exposure to global payroll processing, specifically in the UK and/or US
Trained eye for detail and accuracy to consistently deliver error-free work
Exceptional time management skills as proper prioritization, communication and multi-tasking various projects under pressure will drive the Analyst’s success in their role due to tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be self-starter, well organized, seek development opportunities and able to work independently
A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines is required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.)
Experience with EDI file feeds for payroll/benefits
