Are you an experienced payroll professional ready to take on a dynamic role? Forbes Bros Ltd. is hiring a Payroll Analyst to join our team managing payroll processing for union and non-union employees across Canada and the United States.
As a Payroll Analyst, you’ll handle weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, process remittances for deductions, and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and state legislation. You’ll also assist with year-end activities, reconciliations, and special projects and support internal teams with payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit payroll procedures, records, and data for compliance; recommend and document solutions for non-compliance.
  • Process and manage payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple Canadian and US jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit paperwork for taxable benefits, deductions, garnishments, union payments, and other payroll-related documents.
  • Analyze compensation data and provide reports as required.
  • Maintain and audit databases for accuracy and data integrity.
  • Manage payment and deduction calendars; ensure accurate quarter and year-end tax reconciliations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide support for employee and operational escalations.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory updates, providing reports to management.
  • Support audits and compliance for payroll taxes, benefits, union agreements, and workers’ compensation.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop efficient processes, internal controls, and quality measures.
  • Test payroll system upgrades and integrations with related systems.
  • Communicate proactively with the Director and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
