JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a strong accounting/finance professional to assist with monthly accounting tasks and provide payroll and benefits support. The position is full-time and will be offered a competitive compensation package including benefits. At a minimum, candidates must possess the skills below and be able to thrive in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment. Strong preference given to candidates with prior craft cidery/brewery or food & beverage experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong operational accounting skills and experience in customer service.
  • A working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to and enhance accounting/finance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Effective communicator, with strong interpersonal, oral and written skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced and growing company.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to create efficiencies.
  • Experience with financial reporting and/or ERP systems (Quickbooks is highly desired).
  • Experience with Paylocity software a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing and inventory management software is highly desired.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with people of all levels within the organization.
  • 5+ years experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • CPA/CPP preferred (not required)

Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementing and supporting internal controls and GAAP compliance.
  • Assists in resetting processes, as needed, to conform to GAAP Standards
  • Support operational accounting functions including journal entries, recons, and audits.
  • Maintain general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financials.
  • Assists management in various ad-hoc analysis, special projects and audits.
  • Timely preparation of month end close responsibilities.
  • Maintain P&L and Balance Sheet cleanliness including proper mapping for activity to the corresponding accounts in the ledger.
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets and supporting schedules to assist in reviews.
  • Provide technical accounting research and support for the controller.
  • Support month end reporting and weekly labor analysis as well as monthly KPI analysis.
  • Support external audits for benefits such as 401(k) investments and insurance while providing complete and accurate supporting documentation.
  • Calculate payroll and implement changes in roles or reporting structure timely and accurately.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and employees while processing pay and benefits.
  • Utilize various accounting software such as Toast and 7Shifts for payroll calculations.
  • Reconcile payroll liability accounts and accrue for unpaid balances on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documents of payroll records while complying with all federal, state and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Assist with year end payroll forms, such as W-2, 1095 and 1099.
  • Maintain flexibility to work on special projects as needed.
