Description

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist plays a key role in supporting the company’s accounting operations by managing payroll, processing accounts payable, and handling routine financial tasks. Maintains accurate records, compliance, and reporting under the Controller’s direction.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in clerical accounting

    Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll in Spectrum, including review of virtual timesheets, approvals, data verification, adjustments, and payroll calculations.
  • Administer payroll deductions such as taxes, garnishments, and benefits in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and employee files to support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with accurate, clear, and timely information.
  • Prepare certified payroll reports and verify wage classifications for government projects.
  • Perform accounting support tasks such as coding and processing expenses and receipts.
  • Verify and process vendor invoices with proper documentation and approvals.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies with internal staff.
  • Assist with lien releases in compliance with Florida construction lien laws.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the Controller with additional accounting duties as assigned.
