At the Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens, we have something for you. We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as our Payroll and Benefits Specialist in the accounting department. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of payroll and employee benefits across a multi‑program, multi‑site human‑services agency. This position ensures that all payroll transactions, benefits processes, employee records, and compliance requirements are executed with precision. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to support employees and managers across diverse programs including Area Agency on Aging (AAA), Public Transit, and Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Payroll Administration Benefits Administration Onboarding & Offboarding Support Records Management & Compliance Cross‑Department Collaboration QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES Required: - Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar) - Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations - Experience with benefits administration - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality - Strong communication and customer service skills - Ability to meet firm deadlines Preferred: - Experience in healthcare, public sector, or multi‑site organizations - Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees - Experience in fund accounting - Experience supporting PACE, transit, or human‑services programs - Familiarity with FMLA, ACA, and HIPAA -Certified Payroll Specialist in ADP Workforce Now
