Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team and report directly to the HR Manager. This role is critical in ensuring accurate payroll processing, effective benefits administration, and smooth HRIS interactions. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Paylocity and experienced in managing employee lifecycle events, payroll compliance, and workers’ compensation audits. Please be aware that this position requires full-time, in-office work. Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring all wage adjustments, deductions, overtime, and special pay items are handled correctly. Serve as the primary HRIS administrator, managing onboarding, offboarding, employee data changes, and system updates. Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Oversee open enrollment processes, ensuring employees have accurate information and timely access to benefits elections. Manage employee enrollments, changes, and qualifying life events in HRIS and carrier systems. Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality. Partner with vendors, brokers, and carriers to resolve employee issues and maintain smooth operations. Coordinate and prepare documentation for workers’ compensation premium audits, including payroll reports, employee classifications, and certificates of insurance, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits records to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations. Prepare and submit required reports, such as ACA filings, 401(k) contributions, and payroll summaries. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations (FLSA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, etc.). Support HR team initiatives and contribute to process improvements across payroll, HRIS, and benefits. Perform other duties as assigned. SHRM-CP, FPC, CPP, or CEBS certification preferred. Proficiency with Paylocity required; experience as a system administrator strongly preferred. Previous experience in payroll and benefits administration required. Strong knowledge of payroll laws, benefits compliance, and reporting requirements. Experience supporting workers’ compensation audits preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a high level of attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
