PAYROLL AND FINANCE OFFICER

Location: Casuarina Steiner School, Coffs Harbour
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (3 days per week)
Casuarina Steiner School is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll and Finance Officer to join our warm, collaborative operations team. You will work closely with the Management Accountant and report to the Business Manager, supporting the financial administration of our growing school.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Appropriate qualification or equivalent experience in finance/payroll
  • Strong knowledge of MYOB (or similar software)
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Ability to prioritise workflow and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • High level of discretion, maturity, and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with interpreting employment awards
  • Confident and approachable manner with outstanding customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Initiative, reliability, and a proactive attitude
Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate employee data across payroll and HR systems (MYOB, transitioning to a new platform)
  • Process fortnightly payroll, including timesheets, deductions, reimbursements, and superannuation
  • Manage Accounts Receivable: invoicing, fee reversals, bursaries, statements, reconciliations, and parent enquiries
  • Manage Accounts Payable: data entry, payment processing, purchasing, and supplier reconciliations
  • Support finance functions including BAS, PAYG, and compliance reporting
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and issue letters and communications to employees and parents
  • General administrative duties to support school operations (e.g. enrolments)
