OVERVIEW

Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking a motivated Payroll & HR Specialist to take ownership of payroll for 63 employees and provide key human resources support. This is a newly expanded role evolving from a payroll-only function into a broader HR position to support compliance, onboarding, and employee development. You’ll work closely with a small team of two and play a vital part in strengthening HR operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with QuickBooks.
· Familiarity with HR practices including onboarding, compliance tracking, and training.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

· Process bi-weekly payroll for 63 employees in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Maintain payroll records, deductions, and timekeeping systems.
· Support HR functions, including onboarding, new hire paperwork, and employee file maintenance.
· Track and manage required trainings (CPR, Workplace Violence Prevention, etc.).
· Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers as needed.
· Support ongoing projects related to employee engagement, retention, and policy updates.
