Marks Sattin are working with a rapidly growing organisation in the education sector to recruit a Payroll Assistant in Barnsley! This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic finance team at a company recognised as a Best Companies Top 100 Employer!
As part of a centralised finance function, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services to both internal staff and a large weekly payroll. This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone with strong payroll experience who thrives in a collaborative environment.
This is an office-based role and will pay up to £30,000 DOE, with great progression opportunities available due to the growth within the business.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with consultants and clients to gather accurate payroll data.
  • Support the Payroll Manager in preparing and processing weekly payrolls (PAYE and umbrella).
  • Maintain and update candidate and client records.
  • Resolve payroll queries via phone and email.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records.
  • Manage timesheet amendments, new starters, and leavers.
  • Assist with issuing HMRC forms such as P45s and P60s.
