QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration or related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll and HRIS software is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Basic understanding of taxation as it pertains to payroll.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently.
    Pay Range: $23.00-$25.0
Responsibilities

YOUR VALUED ROLE:

As a Payroll Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for employees regarding pay discrepancies. We are seeking an individual with HR background and mindset, who possesses a strong attention to detail and proficiency in Excel and Google Docs. Your ability to balance assertiveness with empathy is crucial in this forward-facing role.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of employee time records and payroll data.
  • Manage and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including deductions, tax information, and other relevant details.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding payroll and labor.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports as required.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee records and timely updates for changes that affect payroll.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs pertaining to payroll deductions.
  • Support the Finance department with audits and reporting needs related to payroll.
  • Participate in ensuring confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
  • Perform other payroll-related tasks and administrative duties as assigned.
