      Payroll Associate FLSA Status: Salary Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Location:  Remote   Reports to: Payroll Manager   SUMMARY Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Associate acts as liaison between location managers and the payroll processing department.  Performs payroll related tasks and provides support for multi-state payroll, consisting of 3500+ employees.  Ensures timely payroll processing and adherence to company policies and procedures.     The coordinator maintains records in ADP’s Workforce Now payroll system, verifies payroll entries, performs calculations, and collects data for electronic storage.  Requires an understanding of basic tax calculations, pro-rata salaries, garnishments, and commissions.  Performs various reconciliations.  Responsible for analyzing data, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and providing audit support.  Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of payroll processing experience and prior history of working with ADP’s Workforce Now platform. Excellent oral and written skills required.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure adherence to payroll policies and procedures * Excellent research, analytical, and payroll tax management skills * Enforce timelines for timecard and payroll processing activities * Calculates pro-rata salaries, garnishments, catch ups, PTO payouts and adjustments * Communicates, collects, and resolves payroll matters between location managers and payroll processing team * Research, analyze and resolve complex payroll-related issues and discrepancies * Captures, records, and analyzes weekly payroll variances * Connect with location managers to obtain missing documents * Obtain required approvals for supplemental payments, incentives and bonuses * Verifies payroll entries and supporting documentation * PTO policy assignment and balance maintenance * Responds to inquiries from location managers and staff, processors and support center staff * Collect documents for electronic storage and manual filing * Maintains various spreadsheets * Review unused deductions and monitor goals * Resolve issues with ADP support team * Adhoc reporting and projects * Audit support * Reconciliations * Completes VOEs and agency request forms * Attends periodic HR and Payroll meetings * Assists Payroll Manager with special projects       SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None   PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in payroll processing in the ADP WorkforceNow payroll system.     Required experience includes:   * Minimum of 3 years’ experience with ADP’s WorkforceNow platform * Minimum 3-5 years’ payroll processing experience * Minimum 2-4 years’ payroll tax experience * In-depth understanding of payroll procedures and practices, payroll laws, and payroll taxes   CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS   N/A   COMPETENCIES * Confidentiality * Thoroughness * Analytical Skills * Highly Organized * Integrity * Time Management * Resourcefulness   COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the ADP’s WorkforceNow, MS Excel Spreadsheet software, MS Word, MS Outlook.   TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS No travel is expected for this position.
