Overview: Full-time, 12 month Fixed Term position Salary $116,551 - $131,257 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working About You As a Payroll Assurance Coordinator, you’ll be the person who spots what others miss. Working within a specialist compliance project team, you’ll dive into detective reports, proactively pick up exceptions and trends in payroll data, and partner with colleges and managers to ensure compliance requirements are met. Rather than deeply technical payroll processing, this role is about strong problem solving, confident data handling, and building trusted relationships across the university to get to the heart of matters quickly and clearly. This role is perfect for someone who likes blending analysis with relationship building. You’ll work across all areas of the university, helping to protect staff entitlements, improve processes, and build consistency in how payments are made. If you enjoy solving problems, collaborating with different teams, and closing the loop on issues that matter, you’ll find this role incredibly rewarding, and you’ll be joining a respected team doing meaningful work in a supportive, project based environment. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: Demonstrated project coordinator or human resource/payroll operations experience with significant involvement in payroll and time & attendance activities in a dynamic large-scale organisation. Exhibit advanced investigative and analytical skills with an emphasis on root cause analysis Strong interpersonal communication, presentation skills and influence skills, and the capacity to work effectively with internal and external groups and individuals. Experience coordinating multiple streams of work concurrently, balancing priorities and delivering to deadlines. Ability to affect change and influence business stakeholders to change behaviours and build rapport with university stakeholders to influence best practice Demonstrated ability to apply discretion, sensitivity and professionalism, and maintain strict confidentiality. Experience in driving service excellence and continuous improvement in payroll and key business processes and systems. Knowledge of Workday is desirable.
