Description

Adecco is currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Clerk to join our client’s team in North York, ON. This is an 18-month contract opportunity offering $32-$36/hour based on experience. The ideal candidate will support the Payroll Department with comprehensive payroll processing and compliance responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Pay rate: $32-$36/hour depending on experience.
  • Location: North York, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Job type: 18-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Bi-weekly payroll analysis and auditing
  • Validating all deductions (mandatory, statutory, voluntary) and managing Deferred Salary Plans (DSP)
  • Reporting and validating third-party payments (Union Dues, Charities, Associations)
  • Handling overpayments and adjustments
  • Online entry of payroll changes including mileage, credit union deductions, charitable donations, etc.
  • Processing Garnishments and Family Support Payments
  • Issuing Records of Employment (ROEs) using WEBROE for individuals and in bulk
  • Running and analyzing SAP-generated reports for payroll validation
  • Responding to payroll-related requests from government bodies, unions, employees, and auditors
  • Drafting correspondence and responding to inquiries
  • Supporting the front desk during breaks on a rotational basis
  • Assisting with departmental projects and peak workloads
  • Performing other payroll department duties as required

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Minimum 2-year College Diploma in Accounting, Payroll, or a related field
  • Enrollment in the CPA - Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) program is mandatory
  • Minimum 1 year of payroll-related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access)
  • Experience with SAP or other integrated HR/payroll systems is an asset
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage pressure in a deadline-sensitive environment
