We are currently conducting a confidential search for an experienced Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join their team. This key role will provide full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll administration, and financial support services across a broad and varied client base.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of bookkeeping and payroll processes, strong technical software skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision. This is a hands-on role that requires high attention to detail, professionalism, and a client service mindset.
Key Responsibilities
· Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, post journal entries, complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, and manage accrual/prepaid schedules.
· Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor payments, maintain vendor/customer records, prepare and send invoices, apply payments, and monitor aging reports.
· Payroll Administration: Process multi-client payrolls using in-house systems or third-party providers; calculate and remit all source deductions (CPP, EI, income tax); complete filings for T4s, ROEs, WSIB, and EHT.
· Sales Tax Compliance: Prepare and file GST/HST returns in accordance with CRA standards.
· Digital File & Data Management: Maintain QuickBooks Desktop files and ensure digital/paper documentation is well organized and properly backed up.
· Tax & Year-End Support: Support personal, corporate, and trust year-end filings by preparing working papers and gathering necessary documentation.
· Special Projects: Assist with new client file onboarding, clean-up of historical records, and implementation of new technologies or processes.
Candidate Profile
· 7–10 years of hands-on bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or multi-client environment
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, QBO, EasyPay, and Wagepoint
· Working knowledge of CaseWare, Taxprep, iFirm considered a strong asset
· Understanding of CRA remittance obligations, source deductions, and payroll legislation
· PCP certification is preferred but not required
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Clear written and verbal communication abilities
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
